During Phase 2 investigations or real estate transactions it may be required to prove that a tank, which is observed in records or on Sanborn maps, has been removed or is still in place. Using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Time Domain Electromagnetics (TDEM), Four Oaks Geophysics is capable of scanning the survey area to a depth of 6 to 8 feet below land surface (bls). This combined technique investigation is able to identify anomalies of ferrous metals using TDEM and, in most cases, determine the orientation of and depth of that anomaly using GPR.

Other tank locates include former heating oil tanks that need to be removed from a property, locating old septic tanks and drain fields or former gasoline/diesel tanks on farms or industrial properties.
