Seismic Surveys
When designing a new pathway of a proposed pipeline or assessing a site for locations of future buildings, retention ponds or other utilities the depth of rock can greatly impact your design and time on the project. Seismic Refraction can give quality data of the depth until you hit rock and the strength of or "rippability" of that rock. With this information you can be sure to avoid areas of shallow, hard rock and work in areas with deep rock or softer rock.
MASW (Multi-Channel Analysis of Surface Waves) is another seismic testing option. This survey can be used in a single location or point to provide a 1D profile of the soils in that location. This data can produce the seismic site classification (A,B,C,D,E or F) or along a transect it can produce a 2D profile.
